Fascinating points. In the USA, we want large, well-financed, well-resourced churches to provide excellent family-friendly and safe programs to attract the lost. This is good and it works. At the same time, smaller, organic, cell-based growth without the well-established mother church may better equip the church of the next generation. Denominations are loosing people, and only the very large churches seem to be growing. If a large church becomes soft on the core elements of the gospel what will happen is that large numbers of people become weak Christians, and the media embraces a weak form of our faith. We need to pray for the large churches and their leaders and boards. We also need to embrace the ideals and principles presented in this article.

Hey Gilbert
Remember me down in Miami? I just printed out some stuff from your tip a few weeks ago for the team (leaders and getting ready for next year) and wanted to say thanks. I always find your tips helpful, thoughtful, especially timely, relevant and right on!!! I feel that if we applied what you send our way we would see the results and the kingdom would be expanded.

Please keep doing what you are doing!!!

Have you thought about really talking to people one on one. check out www.wayofthemaster.com

I really liked the ideas especially for Christmas, sometimes the best way to deal with someone is going directly to their conscience.

[...] I remember when I was a student at Penn State, Wayne Okamoto and I would often prayer walk around East Halls. Often we would pray that as the lights in those dorm rooms lit the dark quad, that many would come to Christ and be light in the dark world. God uses prayer walks and Dave’s Numbers 13 experience to help build vision for what God will do and stretch student’s faith in how He can use them. For more on this, check out Colleen Harvey’s tip on Prayer Mapping. And for more on Decoding, see Kerri Louck’s tip on Decoding. [...]
